Installé dans le Livradois depuis son adolescence, Roger Jourdain est photographe. Son intérêt pour les images et la photographie a débuté tout petit. Il fait l’acquisition de son premier appareil photo à l’âge de 12 ans, 
Moi à 12 ans, je travaillais chez des agriculteurs pour acheter mon premier appareil photo !
de son premier labo de développement (précaire) à 15 ans et en grandissant, sa passion prend de plus en plus de place.
Il exerce son métier de chimiste mais, dès qu’il le peut, il parcourt le monde pour des voyages et des concours de photos dont il est, tour à tour, jury et compétiteur. Rapidement, il collectionne les récompenses les plus prestigieuses dont le titre de « Best of the Best photographer » qui lui est décerné en 2016 et 2017 par la Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique -FIAP- (seule organisation photographique mondiale reconnue par l’UNESCO). Il est d’ailleurs le seul Français à avoir ce titre et le seul Européen à l’avoir décroché à deux reprises. Ce titre est obtenu quand un photographe a eu le plus de récompenses « Best Author » en une année. Est désigné « Best Author » le photographe qui a eu le plus d’acceptations dans toutes les sections d’un concours international. L’Ambertois a plusieurs cordes à son appareil, il est en quelque sorte le champion du monde toutes catégories grâce à ses portraits, ses photos nature ou encore ses reportages.
Aujourd’hui, il continue d’explorer le monde pour faire de la photographie, mais aussi pour donner des conférences et partager son expérience..

of his first laboratory of development (precarious) at 15 years old and while growing, his passion takes more and more place.
He exercises his profession as chemist but, as soon as he can it, he travels the world for of the trips and the contests of photography of which he is, alternately, jury and competitor. Quickly, he collects the most prestigious awards of which the title of « Best of the Best photographer » that is awarded him in 2016 and 2017 by the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique – FIAP – (only recognized ‘world photographic organization’ by the UNESCO). He is, by the way, the only French to have this title and the only European to have unhooked it for two times. This title is gotten when a photographer have had the more of rewards « Best Author » in one year. Is designated « Best Author » the photographer who have had the more of acceptances in all sections of an international contest. The Ambertois has several ropes to his camera, he is in a way the world champion all categories thanks to his portraits, his photos nature or his reports.
At the present time, he continues to explore the world to make the photography, but also to give some conferences and to share his experience.
